In the business they call it "planned obsolescence" and it's a bummer. We suffer right there with you, constantly updating the game so that it works with the majority of popular devices and software. It's not our idea, that's just the way the major hardware and software companies work.
Sometimes when a device or software version reaches a certain point, the manufacturers of the equipment stop supporting it. That means that we lose the ability to test it against the game, so we can no longer support issues that crop up due to older software and hardware. When we have to tell you, the player, that we can't help at that point it's not because we don't want to help, we literally cannot.
Imagine, if you will, a machine built entirely with Phillips-head screws. One day it breaks and you need to get in there to fix it, but overnight someone stopped providing Phillips-head screwdrivers! All you have left are the new flat-head screws and screw drivers.
That's the same situation we face when "planned obsolescence" rears its ugly head; we no longer have the tools to fix the thing.
Alright, so what do you support right now?
