This event has ended.
Hatchlings turns Sweet 16 this year. To celebrate, we're launching a fun new event! Build your own Sweet 16 event series eggs using ingredients found while hunting, received from challenges, and made in our egg machines! You’ll build this event series using the machines we unveiled last year during the Batch Maker Bash. The party started early, in January, and lasts until March 31, 2024. |

What are the ingredients, and how do I get them?
There are lots of ingredients for all these eggs, and you can get them three ways:
1. The following ingredients are huntable in New Yolk:
|
2. The following ingredients are available through recipe challenges:
|
3. The following ingredients are made in machines:
Mix-o-Matic |
|
BakencookXL |
|
|
|
|
For this event, the Effort Attenuator makes only eggs (using the above ingredients, plus goop).
Cookbook
The following images show the formulas for ingredients you make in the machines.
(Remember, eggs are made in the Effort Attenuator).

About the Machines
All Hatchlings Egg Machines are made from the same parts (as of this event):
|
During the Sweet 16 event, get machine parts by completing Machine Shed recipes.
To make the event eggs, the machines you'll need are Mix-o-Matic, Bakencook XL, and Effort Attenuator. Here's what goes into and out of each:
Two optional machines, the Recyclomizer and the Molecular Agitator, also exist to help you with the parts and ingredients you need.

Heart Hut Tradepost
This tradepost lets you trade eggs for hearts. Depending on timing, the hearts may be pink or green, but they all go to the same "account." You can use the hearts to decorate that Sweet 16 Party Patch, or to buy Luck Potion from the Traveling Merchant. Each Luck Potion lets you make a special double batch in the Bakencook XL or Molecular Agitator, so you can get twice as much ice cream (or pie, or cookies, butter, or...) for the same base ingredients. |
Here's a tradepost refresher:
- Identify the trade in the tradepost or in the Sheldon area of your profile’s collection (if you’re a Premium member). NOTE: If it’s a single-egg trade you can repeat, it will always show a 1 as the target number, because we can’t make it say ♾️ (infinity)
- If you hunt the requested egg(s), send to Sheldon from the Basket Report, or if you have them in storage, send from your profile.
- Open the tradepost to redeem the prize(s)
- As soon as you click REDEEM, the trade will reset back to 0 of 1 to indicate you can do another one, if you like – it’s a fresh start 🙂
More about Luck Potion
|
For a limited time in March, the Traveling Merchant will sell you a mystical Luck Potion, brought from afar 🧪 It'll cost ya dear, but each one lets you make a special double batch in the Bakencook XL or Molecular Agitator machine. You can use it to turn 50 milks into TWO butters! 🧈 🧈 🧠 Remember to select the lucky double batch recipes when choosing what to make! |
Why can't I see the potion in my inventory?
It's a non-traditional ingredient, so it won't show up in your pantry, but when you complete the purchase, you'll see a little "card" that shows it being added to your inventory.
You'll also see it as a required ingredient when you go to make a special doubled batch:
What if I don't get the doubled stuff?
Contact Hatchlings Support with the "code name" of your machine and details of what happened.
About Recipe Challenges
This event has TWO recipe components (click here to read up on those):
The Goop Factory will award the goops you'll need to complete event eggs | |
The Machine Shed will let you complete challenges to win machine parts |
Misc. FAQs
My ingredients aren't in my basket -- where are they?
They're in your inventory! Click on a machine to pull up ingredients and options. Check out our Machines article, too.
Why can't I build a machine in an empty slot?
In general, it could be that you don't have the parts.
For this event, it very likely could be because you started the event with some extra machines, and now that a machine has been destroyed, you're returning to the correct amount of machine slots.
If you had newer machines built when we reenabled the old baking machines, you got some bonus machine usages, BUT once those machines are used up, you won't be able to build any new machines that would put you over the maximum machines you have "permanent" space for. If you didn't buy extra slots, you won't be able to build machines that would put you over whatever your max is.
The most machine slots anyone can have and build in is 6. That's if you're Premium and bought extra machine slots. If you're Premium but didn't buy extra slots, you will have 3 usable slots and won't be able to build a 4th machine.
In other words: the most machine slots anyone can have is 6. If you're not Premium, you get 1. If you're Premium, you get 3 and can buy your way from 3 to 6.
