What is Storage?
Storage is a Premium feature. It's a convenient way to save eggs for later use—whether that’s for gifting, completing challenges, or helping our your network.
There are three ways to store an egg (we sometimes also say "send to storage"):
1. Click Store Egg next to any egg in the Basket Report.
2. In normal hunting mode in New Yolk, use the S key to pull up the Storage Carton, then click any egg in your basket to automatically store it. Read more about keyboard shortcuts here.
3. Click on the egg, then click Send to Storage on the egg card. |
Upgrading to Premium grants you enough storage for 5,000 eggs. You can buy more storage slots with shells in the Marketplace. For more on that, read "How do I get more storage?" below.
How do I access & use my storage?
Get to storage by opening your profile (click on your name or photo in the sidebar) and going to Overall Collection.
Everywhere in your collection (Completed, Hunting, etc.), you can tell what eggs you've found (they're in full color rather than grayed out) and which are in your storage (the number in storage is on the red circle by each egg). You'll also notice that the game automatically displays the color rarity and corresponding collection of each stored egg. For example: Art Styles is a brown series.
To see just the eggs you've stored, click on Storage. This will show you how many of each egg you currently have in stock, as noted by the red icon on the egg.
Where else does the red storage count circle show up?
The red number badge by your egg shows how many of that egg that you have in storage. Even when you're looking at a friend's profile, the red number is how many YOU have. Here's where to find it:
On any egg in a profile's Overall Collection (assuming you have at least one stored).
In your Basket Report next to any egg you've stored.
On an egg's card (found in the basket), along with the stored numbers of any egg in that series. |
How do I get an egg out of storage?
You can retrieve an egg from your long-term storage at any time by sending it to your vault, which is short-term storage. When you click on an egg that is nestled comfortably in your long-term storage, an information box will appear. Click the red In Storage button just under the image of the hatchling.
If you’d like to send multiples of the same egg, select the desired quantity from the dropdown at the top of the storage card. When you're ready, click Send Now and the egg will go to your Vault.
Why do I get an egg out of storage?
You may want to send to a friend, to your network, or to a tradepost event.
One of the most common reasons to get an egg out of storage, though, is to complete a challenge! There's even a Challenges tab in your collection. You can look here for eggs you need for open challenges, then you can get them out of storage to complete those challenges.
Send stored eggs from storage to your vault, and once they're claimed from your vault to your basket, you can check them off your challenge list.
How do I get more storage?
In the Storage section of the Hatchlings Marketplace, you can purchase additional egg storage slots. Go to the Marketplace (shopping cart icon), find Storage on the left side, and pick your option. This increases your storage capacity for eggs, allowing you to hold more eggs in reserve for challenges, gifting, and Hatchlings events.
Storage is a Premium-only feature of Hatchlings, so purchasing storage slots will only work for users who have an active Premium membership.
Storage is a Premium feature -- what if my membership expires?
Storage: If your Premium membership expires, any storage slots you purchased will remain connected to your account and will still be available when your renew your Premium membership.
Eggs: If your Premium membership expires, the eggs you have stored will be kept for two months after your expiration date. If your membership isn't renewed within that two months, we reserve the right to clear your storage from the database, deleting any stored eggs. (This applies to Premium memberships that expire after August 31, 2018.)
