Hatchlings chat feature lets you interact with fellow Hatchlings players from within the game itself. Use it to make new friends, get answers to questions about the game from veteran hunters, trade eggs, and more! Read on to learn about how to use this handy feature.
How do I access the chat?
Chat is in the sidebar at the left hand side of the game screen. In that sidebar, you’ll see 3 tabs near the top: Log, Ranks and Chat. Select the Chat tab to view the chat feed, and type into the text box at the bottom of chat to create and send a message.
Underneath the text box, you can select whether to view Network, Global or Next chat.
If the sidebar isn’t visible, click the arrow on the left side of the game screen to show the sidebar.
How can I interact with other players in chat?
Click another player’s chat entry at any time to reveal actions that can be taken with that user.
After clicking their chat entry, a card will be revealed showing the user’s associated network at the top, followed by their score and rank for the current round.
To report a user for inappropriate chat conduct, click the red flag icon () on their chat card.
To ignore/block a user, click the red “no” symbol (]) on their chat card. After blocking a user, you will no longer be able to see what they post in chat. Note: Blocking is the preferred action to use for any player who is bothersome, but who is not necessarily violating the Hatchlings chat terms.
To copy a user’s ID to your device’s clipboard, click the red id symbol on their chat card. This feature is useful if you’re trying to gift to a user who is not on your friend list.
To send a user a friend request, click the red Add Friend button on their chat card.
How do I report abuse on chat? Can I block someone?
We strongly encourage all Hatchlings players to notify us if/when they see or experience a verbal assault, spam or bullying within the chat rooms.
If you see anything offensive posted in the chat, don't hesitate to 'flag' that player's comments.
You also have the option to 'ignore' a user if you'd prefer not to see their comments. If you do this, they will not know that you can no longer see their comments.
The Hatchlings team reviews every flag in our system to determine whether or not a player should be temporarily or permanently banned from the chat; we do not take bullying or inappropriate comments lightly.
