What is gifting an egg? How do I send a gift?
You can send an egg as a gift to someone to help them complete a collection or a challenge; maybe they'll love the artwork or the adorable Hatchling inside, maybe they just need a lift—there's never a bad reason to send someone a special egg.
How do I collect an egg that was gifted to me?
Your Vault icon will notify you if you have a gift with a red flag connected to the icon (see below).
To accept your gift, open the Vault and click the orange "Accept" button (you can also "thank" the sender to let them know you received the gift). When you accept your gift, it will drop from the Vault into your Basket.
How do I gift an egg from my long-term storage?
Open your Basket Profile by clicking your name in the upper left-hand corner of the page, and then click the orange "storage" button under Overall Collection. Select the egg you'd like to gift, and then click the orange "In Storage" button in the profile box that appears. Select how many of the egg you'd like to send to short-term storage (your Vault), and then click "Send Now."
You can then open your Vault in the game, collect the eggs into your basket, and then send them to friends as gifts like your normally would.
What if I don't want to receive gifts? I want to find the eggs myself! How do I stop people from sending me gifts?!
You can turn off your ability to receive gifts by clicking the "Settings" icon in the upper left-hand corner of the game page (it's the icon with two gears). Scroll down to Game Settings. You'll see an option that says Gifting—toggle the button to "off." This will ensure that you are unable to receive gifts from other Hatchlings players.
How long do I have to collect my gifts?
Unclaimed gifts will expire after seven days, so be sure to collect your gifts within a week of receiving them.
